Operating and Safety Rules - Revised 4/2004
GENERAL
- Club Manager shall have the authority over the activities of members and guests on AHSTC property. The staff has the authority for cause to forbid anyone to enter the facilities, and also to order anyone from the pool or grounds.
- Members and their guests must obey AHSTC staff at all times. AHSTC staff have the authority to enforce the following disciplinary actions after a verbal warning has been issued and not adhered to:
· time out of the pool · dismissal from pool grounds
- All members must sign in at the office upon entry of the pool deck or tennis courts during regular pool hours. Members must sign in for their guests by name. (See Guest Policy)
- All guests must be accompanied by their host member at all times. Guests must abide by these rules and are not allowed to be in the pool area or on the court without the member present.
- Any damage occurring to the Club property by members or members’ guests will be charged to the responsible member.
- No glass allowed anywhere at the facility.
- Bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, etc. are not allowed inside the facility. Bicycles can be locked up on the bike rack in the parking lot.
- Profanity, improper behavior and vulgar remarks are prohibited.
- No radios shall be used on the premises except when connected to earphones or so that it is audible to the individual user only
- BBQ's are provided as a membership convenience. BBQ's must be properly cleaned after use. Utensils are available in the kitchen.
- Adult Swim - no one under 18 years of age is allowed in the swimming pool during this time.
- When lounge chairs and tables are in heavy demand, adults shall have priority in their use.
- No boys over the age of 6 permitted in the Women’s bathhouse and no girls over the age of 6 are permitted in Men’s bathhouse.
SANITATION
- No pets are allowed inside the facilities.
- No smoking is allowed on the pool deck or in tennis court area.
- All persons are requested to take a thorough soap shower before entering the pool.
- Members and their guests must clean up after themselves, including wiping tables or chairs, and picking up area. All garbage must be put into the appropriate containers. Large amounts of garbage must be taken out to the main dumpster in the parking lot.
- Admission will be refused to all persons with skin abrasions, colds, coughs, inflamed eyes, ear discharge, infections and those wearing bandages. No Band Aids allowed in the pool.
- Pollution of the pool is prohibited. Specifically, urinating, expectorating, blowing the nose, or depositing any foreign matter in either pool is prohibited.
- Lifeguards have the right and responsibility to deny pool usage to babies and toddlers who are not using the appropriate undergarments (i.e. swim diapers). Disposable swim diapers are available for sale in the office.
SAFETY
- Running, wrestling, pushing, dunking, or other harmful acts of horseplay are prohibited. Walk on the deck. No running or playing on the concrete walkways within the club premise.
- Talking to a lifeguard on duty shall be restricted to necessary conversation.
- Only one person is allowed on the diving board at one time. Only one bounce is allowed on the diving board. Do not dive from the sides of the diving board. Divers must immediately exit the dive tank via the closest side.
- Backward diving from the edge of the pool is not allowed.
- No diving in the shallow end of the pool.
- Do not swim in the dive tank area except when the boards are determined closed.
- Water toys, such as noodles, may be used but may be restricted during high pool occupancy.
- No playing with tennis balls is allowed in the pool or on the pool deck.
- Children six (6)years of age and younger only are allowed in the wading (baby) pool. This does not restrict parents and babysitters from playing with their children in the pool. PARENTS MUST CONSTANTLY WATCH THEIR OWN CHILDREN IN THE WADING POOL. THERE ARE NO LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY AT THE WADING POOL.
- Children eight (8) years and under must be accompanied by an adult or responsible babysitter at all times anywhere in the facility, even if they have passed their Swim Test.
- Children four (4) years and under or those using swim aids and other flotation devices for the non-swimmer (such as water wings, seat rings, and lifejackets) must be accompanied by an adult or responsible babysitter IN THE WATER AT ALL TIMES.
- Hanging on the lane line is not allowed.
SWIM TEST
Children ten (10) and under swimming in deep water will be required to take a swim test to evaluate their safety level. Check in with the lifeguard on duty for a Swim Test. The Swim Test includes one-half lap of freestyle.
TENNIS
- Only non-marking tennis shoes allowed on the tennis courts. NO BLACK OR LEATHER SOLES.
- The use of radios in and around the tennis courts is not permitted
- Proper tennis attire is recommended.
- No food on courts, including pop, gum or candy.
- Sportsmanlike conduct is required at all times.
- Playing time is limited to two sets or one hour. Please clear the court after that time if anyone is waiting to play.
- Tennis balls ONLY are allowed on the courts. No nerf, pickle, baseballs, etc.
- Use of tennis key-entrance gate - to be locked immediately after entering and leaving. Always secure a lock to the gate or fence. Never leave it unlocked. Keys are to be used ONLY by the member and family.
